Meet Lauren Dunlap: AIF’s New Student Worker

We’re excited to have Lauren Dunlap on our team as a student worker! Lauren is a fifth-year student at NC State, double majoring in Materials Science and Engineering and German Studies. She is a part of the prestigious University Scholars Program and the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program, and this is her second year serving as the President of the NCSU German Honors Society (Delta Phi Alpha).
Lauren’s academic achievements are impressive, but she also enjoys being active in the NC State community. In her free time, she loves dancing and cheering on the Wolfpack at sporting events.
Previously, Lauren contributed to groundbreaking research in Dr. LaBean’s group, where she studied the conductivity of anisotropic nanoparticles. Last year, Lauren started at Analytical Instrumentation Facility (AIF), working in the XRD lab under Dr. Jenny Forrester. This year she has added working in the SEM labs under Toby Tung.
I’m excited to be working at the AIF again this year. This is a great opportunity to be working in multiple labs and learning from the several talented lab managers about the many different areas of research on and off NC State’s campus.
