Bio

Dr. Aaron Bell received his B.S. in Zoology in 1996 from Colorado State University before attending Hofstra University where he earned his M.S. in Biology with an emphasis in electron microscopy. Dr. Bell continued his graduate studies at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he earned his Ph.D. in 2008. From 2008-2010, he conducted research on autism and Alzheimer disease as a postdoc at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and University of Pennsylvania.  Dr. Bell accepted a position at the New York Blood Center in 2011 as the Head of Electron Microscopy, where he assisted investigators in their research projects.  In 2016, he accepted a senior scientist position at Mt. Sinai in an Alzheimer disease lab and transitioned to the manager of the Neuropathology Brain Bank and Research Core. Dr. Bell joined the AIF in 2019 and currently works as the Bio-EM Scientist for the facility.
